Am I a candidate for cosmetic dentistry?

Are you ready for a new smile? Not everyone is. Not everyone should have a new smile. I see many people with crooked or spaced teeth who are perfectly happy with their appearance. The self-confidence that many people have regardless of their appearance is admirable. We should all like ourselves. But if we don’t like ourselves with the smile we have, than let’s get a new one! The following test is a self-analysis to determine how content you are with your smile. Take it and judge for yourself.

Why change your smile? Don’t if you are happy with it, but ask yourself the following questions:

1. Are you self-confident about smiling in front of other people?
2. Do you ever put your hand up to cover up your smile?
3. Do you feel you photograph better from one side of your face?
4. Is there someone you think has a better smile than you?
5. Do you look at magazines and wish you had a smile as pretty as the model’s?
6. When you read a fashion magazine, are your eyes drawn to the model’s smile?
7. When you look at your smile in the mirror, do you see a minor defect in you gums or in one of your teeth?
8. Do you wish your teeth were whiter?
9. Are you satisfied with the way your gums look?
10. Do you feel you show too many or too few teeth when you smile?
11. Do you think you show too much or too little gum tissue when you smile?
12. Do you wish you had longer or shorter teeth?
13. Would you prefer wider or narrower teeth?
14. Are you teeth too square or too rounded?
15. Do you like the way your teeth are shaped?

If you answered “no” to every question except #1, #9 & #15, you are apparently content with your smile.
